Marek's Professional Experience
I have 12 years of experience with different types of electrical installations such as generation schemes (PV farms, battery storage, gas peaking and power stations including G99 and G100 connections), modernisation and upgrades of distribution and private MV and HV networks, including integration of customers’ telecontrol (SCADA). Consequently, I can create protection design schemes for new and existing HV installations, configuration files for numerical protection relays of different manufacturers, and analyse proposed protection solutions by various parties. I am familiar with the commissioning and maintenance process of substations which covers testing different types of protection schemes, commissioning of all equipment installed at substations and carrying out the maintenance tests of the secondary side of any HV installation. Finally, I can analyse customers’ protection schemes to investigate their operation and propose cost-effective upgrades of existing systems which meet clients’ demand.
My career includes 4 years in a medium voltage switchgear manufacturer, where I was responsible for designing and commissioning of new solutions for medium voltage networks. I gained deep knowledge of cooperation of primary and secondary equipment. Additionally, I learned how to create fully functional design and configuration of the different protection relays to achieve their correct operation. I built up experience about collaboration between the manufacturer and customers to meet their requirements.
I worked at Schneider Electric for 7 years where I was able to master my knowledge in configuration and commissioning of protection relays, carrying out commissioning process of refurbished or
newly built substations, conducting factory acceptance tests, delivering training sessions, analysing protection device operations, and analysing compliance of new protection devices with customer requirements.
I was employed for a year as protection and commissioning manager at Ethical Power Connections Ltd. with responsibilities for management of protection design and commissioning. As a result, I have strengthened my position as a high-level professional who can deal with different tasks associated with protection schemes, focus on quality and leading services.
